My primary choice for building my sites is WordPress. It’s lightweight and easy to manage. After having read and re-read SEO2020’s The Master Plan, I’ve been trying to implement what I’ve learned using WordPress.
In order to use The Master Plan (TMP) concepts with WordPress, I needed to re-evaluate my entire site structure. For those who aren’t familiar with TMP, head on over to seo2020.com and download the free report called The Plan. It is a basic look at a new generation of SEO and site building. TMP greatly expands on this report and fleshes out the concepts in detail. So, read The Plan and make up your own mind.
Getting the changes into WordPress involved editing the selected WP-Theme files. I don’t make my own themes, but I know enough coding to modify them. My testing has led me to an incomplete, yet acceptable prototype. It’s acceptable to me because I feel that I was able to structure my silos properly. I’m still stuck on one particular problem, but this interim solution is a step forward nonetheless. The next move is to document my changes, plugins, and to finalize my template.
If you’re a fellow TMP owner whose using WordPress, I’d be happy to collaborate on this issue on the TMP Members-Only forum.
