I’m sure a lot of you have already heard or read about Matt Callen’s offer of AdSpyTracker (adspytracker.com). I know what you’re thinking, yet another AdSense tracking tool. But for only $10, I gave it a shot last week and have been running it parallel with my existing stats program, ShowClicks (which I got as part of JP’s firesale 2). Now that I’ve got some data, I decided to write my own AdSpyTracker review.
The software offer was priced enough to jump into it without much review. I didn’t read the lengthy sales letter. I simply skimmed through the bullet points listing the features and looked at the screenshots. I knew right away that it was worth my ten bucks. Heck, it was like buying a couple magazines off the rack.
I immediately installed it and configured two of my sites to be tracked by it. I really like the reporting interface. It’s easy to jump from one stats page to another. Date range selection was a lot easier, as ShowClicks needs it to be key-ed in manually each time. The domain whose stats you’d like to view is easily selectable from a drop-down menu. Again, unlike ShowClicks where I have to key it in manually each time.
The information that I can derive from the stats are pretty much similar to what I used to get, but with a whole lot less manual work. The detailed reports query that ShowClicks can provide me require me to key in up to 6 fields… each time! With AdSpyTracker, it’s all a point and click interface. It is definitely a great time saver for me. Now, it’s easier for me to look at referring URL’s, keywords used, which ad format performed, etc. I really like it.
There is, however, one thing missing from it. The option to Import and/or Export data. The ability to import data opens up the door for people to migrate from their existing stats program over to AdSpyTracker, while the ability to export data allows further reporting capability. These missing options are minor in my opinion and can easily be added in future releases. One thing to note is that the selectable date range is limited to the end of 2007. I assume and hope that they will be changing this for future updates.
Overall, AdSpyTracker is a solid application and well worth its price. No affiliate link here, just head on over to adspytracker.com, give it a shot, and let me know how it’s working out for you by commenting below.

Hi Vince. Ya, it’s a great program. The keyword information is really awesome. I’m really glad I bought it.
